When Saints Go Machine
When Saints Go Machine
The SPOT Festival can now unveil more bands for the upcoming festival in Aarhus on May 21st and 22nd: Fourteen Danish acts in as diverse genres as electro, rock, alternative pop and disco have now been added to the line-up.

One of these bands is When Saints Go Machine, who have been raised to the skies for their anarchist approach to electronic music. The band has previously played at both SPOT and the Roskilde Festival. These days the lads of When Saints Go Machine are simultaneously working on their new album and negotiating with various record companies concerning European release. They have already left their first footprints on the international scene – including at by:Larm in Norway and most recently at SPOT On Denmark on the fourth of February in Vienna, which immediately sparked high rotation among the Austrian DJs.

Other familiar faces at this year’s SPOT are The Blue Van, who play old-school rock’n’roll. They have three albums under their belts already and they are currently working on their fourth. On top of that they are going on tour in Germany these coming months and hope to conquer the US, the Benelux countries and the rest of Europe too.

Cody is one of the few folk acts in the festival line up. They are known and treasured for their gifted folk rock with roots in country and Americana. Last year, the band released their debut album “Songs” not just in Denmark but also in Germany and the Benelux. However, even before their album release, they played support for prominent acts like Bonnie Prince Billy, The National and Black Francis and even played some gigs in the US.

Speaking of the US, quite a lot of Slaraffenland’s concerts have been on American soil. Their songs are experimental yet melodious and often include a unisonous male voice choir. The band is also among the old friends at SPOT, but only now does the international market seem to open up for the electronic band. About time, one might add!

Furthermore, SPOT presents modern disco in the shape of Vinnie Who, off-beat pop from Striving Vines, grand pop from Twins Twins, desert rock from Kandy Kolored Tangerine, alternative soul pop performed by Naja Rosa, folk pop from Let Me Play Your Guitar, Danish pop and folk performed by Annika Aakjær, pop from Majorian and alternative tones from Betting on the Mouse.

So far the following bands have been officially confirmed for the SPOT Festival 2010:
Annika Aakjær, Before the Show, Betting On The Mouse, Black City, Black Leather Machine, Chimes & Bells, Coco Moon, Cody, Crystal Sky Butterfly, Darling Don't Dance, Deportees (SE), Dokkedal/Dixen, Dødning, Per Egland (SE), Fallulah, FM Belfast (IS), The Foreign Resort, Ghost Society, Ginger Ninja, Sandra Hakky, Howl Baby Howl, Jonathan Johansson (SE), The Kandidate, Kandy Kolored Tangerine, Kenton Slash Demon, King's Light Infantry, Kim LAS, K-liir, Lars and The Hands of Light, Let Me Play Your Guitar, Little Yells A lot, Majorian, Maribel (NO), Mimas, Nabiha, John Olav Nilsen & Gjengen (NO), The Olympics, Pony the Pirate (NO), Quadron, RebekkaMaria, The Rumour Said Fire, Naja Rosa, Scarred By Beauty, Elin Ruth Sigvardsson (SE), Slaraffenland, Specktors, Kasper Spez, Stoffer & Maskinen, Striving Vines, The Blue Van, Twins Twins, Vinnie Who, When Saints Go Machine.
