SPOT has revealed the first pile of talented Danish and Nordic acts for this year’s festival, on 21st – 22nd May.

The first heap of acts for this year’s SPOT Festival in Aarhus on the 21st and 22nd of May is now official: 39 bands who represent a multitude of genres including metal, rap, indie, folk pop, rock and pop.

For most of the artists it’s the first time that they are going to play at the festival, but there are also a couple of familiar faces that our international guests may know from their SPOT gigs in the previous years

A lot of the newcomers at SPOT can boast of awards, popular success and excellent reviews. From Denmark there is the folk pop quartet The Rumour Said Fire, who have very recently won Danish Radio P3’s Talent Award and whose song “The Balcony” has been a great hit. Swedish Deportees won Swedish P3 Gold in the pop category, while Jonathan Johansson was among the nominees for best artist at the same award show.

Jonathan Johansson will play at this years SPOT.

Norway is represented with John Olav Nilsen & Gjengen, whose album “For sant til å være godt” was last year’s best album in Norway according to several Norwegian media.

In the metal genre there are Danish Scarred by Beauty and The Kandidate, while Danish Kasper Spez as well as K-liir are among the hip hop acts. Icelandic FM Belfast handles the electro pop and Specktors excel in electro rap.

Among the familiar faces at this year’s SPOT Festival there are Ginger Ninja, who have recently embarked on their international career, and RebekkaMaria, who already has plenty of international experience as well as a very respectable international fan base!

A lot more acts will be revealed in the near future. Keep yourself updated here!
