Seven new Scandinavian acts have been announced for this year’s SPOT Festival.

One of these is Efterklang, whose latest album “Magic Chairs” was considered as one of the most important releases of 2010 by both the Danish and the international press. The BBC called it “a superb record from one of the world´s most uniquely-minded bands”, NME deemed it “the kind of record Coldplay and Brian Eno should have made”, while Mojo Magazine wrote, “A miraculous conservatoire pop opus. If you prefer your pop progressive, this is for you.”

Efterklang played at the SPOT festival in 2005 and 2008 and have since toured extensively in Europe and the US, earning a reputation as a unique and chillingly beautiful live experience.

As previously announced, members of Efterklang will also perform on the opening night on Thursday, May 20 as part of the spectacular musical fusion Slaraffenklang.

Other additions to the line-up include Norwegian star and singer/songwriter Thomas Dybdahl, who return to SPOT -  this time with songs from his latest solo release "Waiting For That One Clear Moment". The Finnish electronic duo Villa Nah brings romantic synth-pop from Helsinki as heard on their debut album “Origin”. From Sweden we’re proud to present Miss Li and her charming pop songs. Surf in Stereo, a trio from the Danish West Coast combe indie, surf and jazz. Finally, Danish singer-songwriter Michael Falch will perform in a special “storyteller” setup featuring a semi-acoustic concert with the band, Boat Man Love.

With these latest additions, 99 per cent of this year’s program has now been revealed.
