Nina Christiani I saw Trolle/Siebenhaar on the biggest stage in Musikhuset. The cool thing was that they got people to rise from their seats. That surprised me, because at first the personnel had told us to sit down, and the audience was rather quiet. But as the concert moved on, each row was having their own little party. It was a very positive surprise. Johan Kjærulff Rasmussen That was The Blue Van when I saw them just after the release of their first demo. It was really cool, because they played with so much energy and went completely berserk. They smashed their drums, and the lead singer played his guitar so hard that his fingers bled. Louise Gam Two years ago I was sitting outside on the festival grounds. That’s the day I remember the best. It was Saturday, the weather was nice, and I was sitting there with some friends. There was a lot of happy people and the distant sound of concerts. Astrid Hansen My best SPOT experience so far was an intimate concert with Teitur. The room was only half full, and it worked very well with just him and his guitar on stage. During the concert a cell phone rang several times, but even that couldn’t ruin the atmosphere. Tine Nørgård I went to a concert with African musician Deodato Siquir. I had absolutely no expectations. I just wanted to see what it was. He gave it all he could with drumming, singing and rapping. There was an energy I’d never experienced at any other concert. The room was dark, and it felt like I was standing in a closed bubble. Hani Abu-Khalil I was a volunteer at the festival two years ago. One day after work, I ended up drinking a couple of beers in some basement. Suddenly I found myself at a heavy metal concert, rocking out with two metal fans who I didn’t know. It was great to experience how beer and music brought people together! Ophelia Borup Some years ago I saw a two-hour concert at the Nordic Cowriters-stage, which deeply impressed me. Their collaborations found new expressions on stage, and you could feel how they were really passionate about it. It left me happy and elated. Benjamin Jensen Last year I went to SPOT on my own. The first concert I saw was with a noise rock band, and here I quickly met two people that I hadn’t seen in four years. We were hugging and talking, and suddenly I met some others from back then. We ended up going to the rest of the festival together. It was amazing. Thomas Larsen By coincidence, I ended up at a concert on one of the smaller scenes. I had no idea who was playing, but it was electronic music, and the sounds were enticing. Part of the audience was lying on the floor, and one couple lay there holding hands. We were something like 20 people in the room. It was very intimate.
