This September, the rock’n’roll movie ”The Runaways” is released in Denmark by SF Film. Since it comes out directly on DVD and will not be shown in Danish theaters, SF Film has decided to offer a special screening for the musically curious SPOT audience.

The movie tells the story of all-girl rock band The Runaways, which was formed in 1975 by a 17-year old Joan Jett. Years before ”I Love Rock’n’Roll”, The Runaways broke through with real girl power and massive success; their live supporting acts counting names like The Ramones og Van Halen. “The Runaways” stars actors Kristen Stewart, Dakota Fanning and Michael Shannon. Directors Floria Sigismondi has previously directed music videos for The Cure, Muse, White Stripes, Interpol, Sigur Rós and many others. See the trailer for ”The Runaways” here.

“The Runaways” is screened in the Århusian movie theater Cinemaxx on Saturday, May 22 at 11 am. The SPOT Festival musical program begins at 1 pm, so you can safely enjoy the film without losing out on a single concert.

Both audience members and industry representatives are welcome at the screening. There is total of 200 free tickets (first-come, first-served). To order yours, send an email to Ulrich Lauridsen at ul@sf-film.dk listing your address and the number of tickets you wish to receive.
