Quotes "Danish Music Is Cool As Fuck"
- New Musical Express "SPOT is one of the greatest festivals I’ve ever been to!"

With only one release behind them so far – last year’s critically acclaimed EP “The Life and Death of a Male Body” – the success has come quickly and unexpectedly for The Rumour Said Fire.
Since they received the prize for Best New Talent from the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (P3 Guld) in January, they have received a lot of attention from the national media. Their first concert at SPOT was placed in the biggest venue in Musikhuset, Store Sal, which holds an audience of 1500, but even that was not enough to meet the demands from the curious crowd. Large groups of people had to wait by the door – including SPOT Live photographer Jacob Bredahl – before they were admitted to the concert. Once inside, the scenario was that of a young band convincingly taming an audience that would have been unthinkable just one year ago with their jangly folk and charming vocal arrangements. The concert peaked when The Rumour Said Fire played their radio hit “The Balcony“ and moved the crowd to standing ovations. Live on stage in Store Sal. Photo: Jacob Bredahl So, how did you like your first concert at SPOT? - It was great! This is such an important festival for Danish music, and we’re very happy to be invited to play here. It was amazing to enter the stage to the sound of a clapping crowd. It felt like a real privilege, said guitarist and singer Søren Lilholt. Have you seen any concerts yet? - We’ve been really busy today, so not yet. But we will tomorrow! We’ll definitely see Cody, he added. While SPOT Live moves on, two young girls approach the band asking for photos and autographs. The rumour is spreading indeed. "It was great!" Photo: Jacob Bredahl
