The descendants of the jazz musicians of the new generation take matters into their own hands and transcend the traditional boundaries of the genre. Be-bop soli and swinging eighths are replaced by a controlled, well-composed punk and that mix creates the distinct up-tempo trumpet-driven Balkan jazz which is the group’s trademark. Last year’s debut was given four from six in Danish broadsheet paper Politiken, whose reviewer dubbed the instrumental band a jazz version of Slipknot.
